Law Firm Files Suit Against Eli Lilly Over Alleged Vision Loss Linked to Mounjaro

Parker Waichman LLP has filed multiple lawsuits representing patients who developed NAION—an irreversible condition resulting in partial or total vision loss—following the use of GLP-1 receptor agonists. The latest complaint, filed in October 2026 for a Texas resident, specifically identifies the diabetes medication Mounjaro as the cause.

The lawsuit asserts that Eli Lilly failed to adequately warn physicians and patients in the United States regarding the potential for optic nerve damage. While domestic warnings have remained limited, regulators in Canada and Australia updated their respective product monographs for the drug earlier in 2026 to include specific warnings about NAION and the need for urgent ophthalmologic evaluation following sudden vision loss.

Jason S. Goldstein, senior litigation counsel at Parker Waichman and co-chair of the federal multidistrict litigation (MDL 3163), stated that patients deserve transparency regarding these risks. The firm is currently consolidating claims from patients who suffered optic nerve injuries after using various GLP-1 medications, including Mounjaro, Zepbound, Ozempic, and Wegovy.
