Law Firm Investigates Atlantic Digestive Specialists Data Breach

Law firm Edelson Lechtzin LLP has initiated an investigation into a data breach impacting Atlantic Digestive Specialists, which has resulted in the exposure of patient personal and protected health information. The firm is examining potential class action claims on behalf of affected individuals.

Atlantic Digestive Specialists detected suspicious activity on its network in March 2026. An internal investigation, conducted with cybersecurity experts, determined that unauthorized access to data occurred between March 16 and March 17, 2026. A review concluded in August 2026 confirmed that sensitive patient information was compromised.

The practice began notifying affected individuals on September 30, 2026. While the total number of individuals affected and the identity of the unauthorized party have not been publicly confirmed, at least 51 Rhode Island residents were notified. The exposed data may include names, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, dates of birth, financial account information, and detailed health records.

Edelson Lechtzin LLP is offering free, confidential case evaluations for patients who believe their personal and medical data may have been compromised. The firm encourages affected individuals to take protective measures, such as monitoring financial accounts and credit reports, and considering a credit freeze.

Patients who received a breach notification are advised to monitor account statements and credit reports for suspicious activity. Atlantic Digestive Specialists has established a helpline for individuals with questions regarding the incident.
