The exposed data is understood to include names, Social Security numbers, and financial details such as bank account and credit or debit card numbers. Opportune LLP, which provides outsourced accounting services to the energy sector, began notifying affected individuals in September 2026.
While Phillips 66's systems were reportedly not breached, the data handled by Opportune LLP during its services was compromised. The firm discovered the incident on August 18, 2026. The breach notification indicates that over 32,000 Texas residents, along with hundreds in Massachusetts and Vermont, may be affected, with potential nationwide impact.
