Law Firm Investigates Poppins Payroll Data Breach

National class action law firm Edelson Lechtzin LLP is investigating claims related to a data breach impacting Poppins Payroll customers. The firm is offering free, confidential case evaluations for household employers and employees whose personal information may have been exposed.

The breach was detected on September 3, 2026, when an unauthorized party exploited a security vulnerability in Metabase, a software vendor used by Poppins Payroll. The company has since addressed the vulnerability and is working with an external security firm to investigate the extent of the compromise.

Poppins Payroll sent notification letters to affected individuals on September 29, 2026, reporting the incident to state attorneys general. Information potentially compromised may include names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, phone numbers, wage and tax information, and financial account details.

The full scope of the breach nationwide is still under investigation. Edelson Lechtzin LLP is examining the possibility of a class action lawsuit to seek compensation for losses incurred by affected individuals and to push for enhanced data protection measures by Poppins Payroll.

Poppins Payroll is offering affected individuals 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection through Experian IdentityWorks. Customers are advised to keep their breach notification letters, monitor financial accounts, and consider placing fraud alerts with credit bureaus.
