Lazard completes acquisition of Campbell Lutyens
Lazard has finalized its acquisition of Campbell Lutyens, launching a new unit, Lazard CL, focused on private capital advisory services.
Lazard has officially closed the acquisition of Campbell Lutyens, a move first announced in April 2026. The integration launches Lazard CL, a dedicated unit tasked with managing private capital advisory services by combining Lazard’s existing operations with the expertise of the acquired firm.
The new entity operates with more than 300 advisory professionals across 19 global offices. The initiative is a core component of the "Lazard 2030" strategy, designed to diversify the firm’s revenue streams and broaden its reach within capital markets beyond traditional M&A and restructuring work.
Lazard CL provides services covering fund placement, primary capital raising, and secondary market transactions for general partners and institutional investors. The unit intends to differentiate itself through proprietary data sets on investor sentiment and fund pricing, combined with Lazard's existing analytics platforms.
CEO Peter Orszag noted that the combination aims to deepen client relationships across the entire private capital lifecycle. As competition for capital intensifies, the unit is positioned to provide independent, specialized advice to financial sponsors and global investment firms.
