Lübeck Marathon to Cause Traffic Disruptions on Sunday
Over 8,100 runners will participate in the Stadtwerke Lübeck Marathon on Sunday. Road closures are expected to cause significant delays for motorists.

The Stadtwerke Lübeck Marathon is set to take place on Sunday, drawing over 8,100 runners and an anticipated crowd of thousands of spectators along the route. The event is scheduled to commence in the morning and conclude in the afternoon.
A new initiative for this year includes a shuttle service for "marathon duos." An vintage bus will transport the second runner to the exchange point in Travemünde. Following their leg, the first runners can return to Lübeck's Rathausmarkt via the bus. Additional activities are planned at the Rathausmarkt.
Motorists are advised to anticipate considerable traffic disruptions. Numerous streets, including Kohlmarkt, Travemünder Allee, and the promenade in Travemünde, will be closed from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. City authorities are urging drivers to plan their journeys accordingly and consider alternative routes.
In other local news, Lübeck has recently seen police drills simulating scenarios with football fans and ongoing investigations into drug-related incidents.
