Lego Group Challenges Fans to Combine Star Wars and Marvel Universes

The Lego Group has announced a new Lego Ideas challenge that allows fans to combine elements from the Star Wars and Marvel universes. This marks the first time fans can create LEGO brick models that merge characters, vehicles, or scenes from both franchises.

The announcement was made at New York Comic Con and coincides with celebrations for the Star Wars franchise's 50th anniversary, as well as the first-ever comic crossover between Marvel and Star Wars titled "Hope Assembles." The challenge is open to fans aged 13 and older who submit their designs through the Lego Ideas platform.

Participants can select from three building themes: vehicles, characters, or scenes, with creations required to blend aspects of both universes. Fan voting for submissions will begin on December 15, 2026, and the winning designs, which will be turned into official Lego products, will be announced next year.

The Lego Ideas platform provides a venue for fan creations to potentially reach the market. Selected fan designs are developed with Lego designers, and winners receive a share of the profits. The Lego Group, founded in Denmark in 1932, aims to inspire and develop future builders through play.
