Lego Group revenue grew 27% in 2021

The Lego Group announced on March 8, 2022, that its revenue for the full year 2021 increased by 27 percent compared to 2020, reaching DKK 55.3 billion. Consumer sales saw a 22 percent rise globally, outpacing the broader toy industry and leading to market share gains.
Operating profit rose 32 percent to DKK 17.0 billion, while net profit stood at DKK 13.3 billion, up from DKK 9.9 billion in 2020. Free cash flow was DKK 12.9 billion. The company attributed its financial performance to strong execution and a diverse product portfolio, with popular themes including Lego City, Technic, and Harry Potter.
Strategic investments in product innovation, digital channels, and production capacity contributed to the growth. The company opened 165 new Lego branded stores globally in 2021, bringing the total to 832. E-commerce sales also experienced strong double-digit growth.
Looking ahead, The Lego Group plans to accelerate investments in areas such as sustainability and digitalization. It also announced plans for a new factory in Vietnam, expected to be its first operational carbon-neutral facility. The company anticipates normalized growth rates in 2022.
