LEGO Manufacturing Vietnam Signs Renewable Energy Deal with VSIP

LEGO Manufacturing Vietnam has signed a Direct Power Purchase Agreement (DPPA) with Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP). The agreement covers an integrated rooftop solar and battery energy storage solution, marking one of the first large-scale industrial renewable energy purchase agreements in Vietnam.

This deal is a significant step towards the LEGO Group's goal of powering its Vietnam factory entirely with renewable energy. The solution expands the site's existing renewable energy infrastructure, which includes 12,400 rooftop solar panels installed on the factory buildings (opened in April 2025) and a battery energy storage system.

Jesper Hassellund Mikkelsen, Senior Vice President of Asia Operations and General Manager of LEGO Manufacturing Vietnam, stated that the agreement is an important step forward. "We are proud to be one of the first companies to sign a DPPA," he said.

The agreement is expected to reduce LEGO Manufacturing Vietnam's CO2 emissions by approximately 15,000 tonnes annually, starting in early 2026. The company is also pursuing additional off-site power purchase agreements to achieve 100% renewable energy usage. The factory, which opened in April 2025, is the LEGO Group's sixth factory globally and its most environmentally sustainable to date.
