LEGO Technic Unveils New Yamaha MT-10 SP Motorcycle Model
LEGO Technic has released a new set featuring a detailed model of the Yamaha MT-10 SP motorcycle. The build includes a complex gearbox and integrates augmented reality features.
LEGO GmbH has introduced a new LEGO Technic set replicating the Yamaha MT-10 SP motorcycle. The model is designed for adult builders and motorcycle enthusiasts, featuring a complex, newly developed gearbox.
Emphasis in the design process was placed on achieving a high level of realism. According to LEGO Technic designer Lars Thygesen, four new elements were created for the gearbox, including a shifter drum, ratchet wheel, gear shift fork, and gear shifter. These aim to mimic the functionality of a real motorcycle's transmission.
The model is built at a 1:5 scale, making it one of the largest LEGO Technic motorcycle models produced. While the intricate mechanical workings are concealed within the model's exterior, it is designed for compatibility with the LEGO Technic AR app. The app provides three modes: a virtual riding experience, an X-ray view of the model's internal components, and the ability to place a 3D model in the user's environment.
The LEGO Technic Yamaha MT-10 SP set offers a challenging construction experience, intended to educate fans about motorcycle engineering and technology through both the physical build and digital integration.
