The Lego Group has opened a new digital office in Copenhagen to support its long-term digital ambitions. The office, designed to accommodate up to 400 employees, is one of four global digital hubs. The company also plans to expand its digital offices in Billund, London, and Shanghai, aiming to nearly triple the global size of its digital team to over 1,800 people within three years.
Lego Group describes its digital transformation as one of the largest single investments in a generation. The company is focused on enhancing digital experiences across play, shopping, and business operations. While the Lego brick remains central, Lego has seen success with digitally enabled experiences and products like LEGO Super Mario, which has contributed to years of double-digit growth.
The new Copenhagen office is designed to foster digital ways of working and reflect the company's playful culture. It incorporates the company's "Best of Both" approach, balancing office and remote work. The workspace design involved input from digital team members to create an environment conducive to focus, collaboration, and play, including a dedicated gaming room.
The office currently houses 100 employees and is located in central Copenhagen, featuring collaborative spaces, a gaming room, and a canteen. Lego Group plans to increase digital investment across all business areas and is actively recruiting for roles such as engineers, product managers, UX/UI designers, and data scientists.
