Leica Biosystems to Acquire StatLab Medical Products
Leica Biosystems announced Thursday it has entered into an agreement to acquire StatLab Medical Products, a developer and manufacturer of anatomical pathology products. The acquisition aims to strengthen cancer diagnostics.

Leica Biosystems, an operating company of Danaher, announced on Thursday that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire privately held StatLab Medical Products. StatLab, a developer and manufacturer of anatomical pathology products, will become part of Leica Biosystems following the closing of the transaction.
StatLab has served anatomic pathology laboratories for over 50 years, offering a broad portfolio of products that support the pre-analytical and analytical histology workflow. Its solutions, spanning specimen collection, tissue processing, and slide preparation, are designed to enhance laboratory efficiency, standardization, and diagnostic quality.
The acquisition is expected to combine StatLab's product portfolio with Leica Biosystems' expertise in pathology, computational pathology, and AI-driven diagnostics. The companies aim to help laboratories achieve the consistency and standardization required for large-scale adoption of AI-enabled cancer diagnostics, thereby advancing cancer diagnosis and improving patient outcomes.
The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals, and is anticipated to close by the end of 2026. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
