Leidos and DHL Supply Chain have established a strategic alliance to support the UK Ministry of Defence's (MOD) future logistics requirements under the Future Defence Support Services (FDSS) program.
Operating as the Logistics & Mission Support Alliance within a competitive bidding process, the partnership integrates Leidos' defence integration expertise with DHL's global logistics scale and operational capacity. If successful, the alliance is intended to modernize defence logistics, bolster readiness, increase resilience, and provide more agile support to the UK's Armed Forces.
The alliance will function as a single, integrated team, leveraging global networks, established infrastructure, and surge capacity to maintain defence operations during disruptions. Its goal is to ensure supply continuity and rapid recovery, guaranteeing that armed forces receive necessary support when and where required.
Furthermore, the alliance plans to utilize advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, and automation to optimize logistics operations and enhance visibility across demand, inventory, and assets. This approach aims to facilitate better-informed decision-making and improve overall operational effectiveness.
