Lesjöfors supplies components for ISRO space docking mission
Lesjöfors subsidiary International Industrial Springs provided critical components for the Indian Space Research Organisation’s SpaDeX autonomous docking experiment.

Lesjöfors’ subsidiary, International Industrial Springs Pvt Ltd (IISPL), has supplied specialized spring and pressing components to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The hardware was utilized during the Space Docking Experiment (SpaDeX), a mission designed to validate autonomous docking capabilities in Earth's orbit.
The mission successfully demonstrated the technology required to link two spacecraft autonomously, a development significant for future modular satellite construction and long-term space station operations. IISPL’s contribution involved the manufacturing of components capable of withstanding the mechanical demands of space flight.
This project reflects the broader reliance of governmental space agencies on high-specification industrial manufacturing partners. The successful execution of the SpaDeX experiment marks a advancement for India's space program, establishing a foundation for more complex in-orbit operations.
