At the pharmacon event in Meran on 01.06.2026, the Lesmüller Medal was awarded to three German pharmacists in recognition of their long-standing and significant contributions to the pharmacy sector.

Dr. Klaus Gerlach, who has managed the Bergmann Pharmacy in Oelsnitz since 1990, was honored for over 32 years of commitment to the Saxon State Chamber of Pharmacists. He substantially influenced the development of continuing education within the state's pharmacy sector and remains an active lecturer.

Manfred Krüger, who operated two pharmacies in Krefeld from 1977 to 2020, was recognized for his pioneering work in medication therapy safety. His long-standing role within the North Rhine Pharmacists' Association, his expertise in diabetes management, and his international development work, particularly in Bangladesh, were highlighted.

Prof. Dr. Dieter Steinhilber, Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Goethe University Frankfurt since 1994, received the award for his scientific career and educational contributions. With over 300 publications, he has been instrumental in organizing continuing pharmaceutical education in the state of Hesse for nearly 30 years.

Dr. Armin Hoffmann, President of the German Federal Pharmacists' Association (Bundesapothekerkammer), presented the medals, emphasizing the recipients' dedication and the importance of their experience and expertise to the profession.
