Levain Bakery and Crate & Barrel Launch 17-Piece Home Collection

Levain Bakery and home goods retailer Crate & Barrel have launched a 17-piece collection born from the bakery's previous use of Crate & Barrel serveware for displaying its cookies. The collaboration aims to bring the bakery's distinct aesthetic and baking expertise into home kitchens.

The collection features items like plates, glasses, dish towels, spatulas, and mixing spoons. Notable pieces include a $15 "Mini Crate" ceramic vessel, inspired by the berry boxes Levain uses for cookie displays, and an $18 hand-blown "Cookie Glass." A $20 "Perfect Silicone Cookie Mat" is also included, designed to help users bake Levain-sized cookies at home.

According to Levain Bakery co-founder Pam Weekes, the bakery previously sought unique and elevated serveware from Crate & Barrel to present their cookies. The collaboration sought to merge Levain's baking know-how and visual identity with Crate & Barrel's manufacturing expertise and focus on functionality.

For instance, the $50 cookie jar, featuring a maple lid, is adorned with original illustrations in Levain Bakery's signature blue style by artist Libby VanderPloe. VanderPloe also contributed illustrations to the collection's textiles, tools, and serveware.

Levain Bakery, which is preparing to open its 21st location, expects the collaboration to expand its brand reach. Crate & Barrel operates over 100 stores, outlets, and franchise locations globally, allowing fans of the New York City bakery to bring its signature style into their own homes.
