Lexar and Leica Present Photography Exhibition in Amsterdam

The exhibition centers on the work of suzhou-kesi artist Hao Naiqiang and how photography preserves traditional crafts.
The exhibition documents the efforts of Leica Award-winning photographer Jing Huang as he captures the work of Naiqiang, a young artisan and preserver of the suzhou-kesi craft, also known as "Jingwei." It explores how photography and archiving can safeguard authentic craftsmanship, presence, and memories.
The collection merges traditional suzhou-kesi silk weaving with contemporary photographic art. The project aims to demonstrate the role of technology and artistic expression in preserving cultural heritage for future audiences.
"Threads of Time: A Journey Through Silk and Lens" is open to the public at the Leica Gallery Amsterdam. The initiative seeks to foster discussion on the relevance of traditional crafts in the digital age.
