LG begins mass production of 5G telematics solution for European automaker

LG Electronics has initiated mass production of its next-generation 5G R16-based smart telematics solution. The company has begun delivering the solution to a prominent European premium automotive manufacturer.

The solution integrates LG's communication module with an antenna, aiming to enhance vehicle connectivity and design efficiency. It is intended to meet the growing demand for faster and more reliable data communication in vehicles, while also supporting the development of software-defined vehicles (SDV).

LG states that the new solution supports not only 5G technology but also future 5G Advanced capabilities. Its modular design allows for flexibility and scalability across different vehicle models and future upgrades.

Telematics solutions are crucial for in-vehicle data collection, diagnostics, vehicle lifecycle management, and infotainment services. This contract signifies LG's role as a supplier within the automotive industry.
