LG Commercial Displays Achieve 'Leader' Rating in Sustainability Program

LG Electronics has once again been recognized for environmental sustainability excellence in a key third-party assessment for suppliers to the U.S. hospitality industry. The company's hotel TVs, digital signage displays, and computer monitors earned the 'Leader' rating from the MindClick Sustainability Assessment Program (MSAP) for the tenth consecutive year.

According to MindClick, LG is "making big strides in sustainability – reducing carbon impact, increasing sustainable materials, and cutting down on packaging waste." The 'Leader' rating was awarded for criteria related to hotel impact, guest health, end-of-use product management, and a responsible supply chain.

MSAP is an annual program that evaluates product lifecycle sustainability through MindClick's rigorous audit process. Suppliers are rated at one of three levels: Starter, Achiever, and Leader. The program initially included suppliers to Marriott International but has since expanded to encompass more suppliers and brands, including Fairmont, Four Seasons, Hilton, and Hyatt.

The assessment measures metrics such as carbon footprint, use of sustainable materials, recyclability, and avoidance of chemicals of high concern. Specific considerations include product energy efficiency, health impact at the installation site, end-of-life recyclability, and manufacturing social responsibility, such as preventing child labor and discrimination.

LG Electronics USA provides commercial display solutions for the lodging and hospitality sector, digital signage, system integration, healthcare, education, and industrial markets.
