LG Electronics announced the launch of the globally popular mobile game 8 Ball Pool on its smart TV platform, in partnership with game developer Miniclip. This expansion grows LG's library of free, web-based games to over 1,000 titles.
The game, recognized by Guinness World Records as the most downloaded mobile pool game with over one billion downloads worldwide, will be available on LG Smart TV models running webOS 6.0 and above. The company reports significant year-over-year growth in gaming usage and hours played on its platform.
8 Ball Pool for TV features a one-on-one multiplayer mode and exclusive gameplay elements optimized for control with LG's Magic Remote. LG highlights the immersive, "life-size" pool experience achievable on its larger screens, up to 100 inches.
The addition of 8 Ball Pool to LG's gaming ecosystem supports the company's strategy to deliver diverse entertainment directly through the TV screen. The availability of games on smart TVs continues to grow, with LG aiming to solidify its presence in this expanding market.
