LG Electronics Adds Vietnam Production Line to Bolster Advanced Materials Supply
LG Electronics has launched a new production line at its Haiphong, Vietnam facility to strengthen its global supply chain for advanced glass powder materials. The line adds 2,000 tons of annual production capacity for materials like PuroTec™.

LG Electronics is reinforcing its global supply chain for advanced glass powder-based materials with the launch of a new production line at its manufacturing facility in Haiphong, Vietnam. This expansion will add approximately 2,000 tons of annual production capacity for key materials, including LG's PuroTec™ and Easy-Clean Enamel.
The new facility complements LG's existing plant in Changwon, South Korea, which has a capacity of 4,500 tons. Together, the Changwon and Haiphong plants form a dual-production system designed to enhance supply stability and delivery responsiveness for global clients. This strategic move aims to meet growing business-to-business demand for these specialized materials.
With the Haiphong plant operational, LG will expand its supply reach beyond North America, Europe, and China to include key markets such as India and Southeast Asia. The new plant incorporates advanced manufacturing technologies, with around 80 percent of its processes, from raw material input to shipping, being automated to improve efficiency and quality.
LG PuroTec™ is an advanced material with antimicrobial and antifungal properties intended for use in home appliances, building materials, and packaging. Easy-Clean Enamel is a coating material designed for cooking appliances, facilitating easy cleaning and resisting discoloration. The company is also exploring new applications for its glass powder technology.
