LG Electronics and Nvidia Accelerate Robotics Collaboration

LG Electronics and technology firm Nvidia are accelerating their collaboration in the robotics sector. Senior officials from both companies met at LG's Data Factory in Seoul to discuss the direction of their joint efforts and explore avenues for increased synergy.

LG aims to combine its decades of manufacturing and logistics data with Nvidia's open robotics development platform to build a robust "data flywheel" for robot learning. This initiative is intended to expedite the commercialization of LG's robotics business.

The LG Data Factory, slated for full operation by year-end, is designed to collect and utilize data generated by LG's CLOiD robots. The facility will train robots to perform various tasks within simulated environments, covering activities such as household cleaning and manufacturing processes.

This collaboration is expected to bolster LG's competitive standing in the robotics market. The company has also established a dedicated Robotics Business Center and is expanding its product range from industrial and commercial robots to include home robotics.
