LG Electronics Recognized by U.S. EPA as 2022 Energy Star Partner of the Year

**LG Electronics has been honored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its dedication to environmental sustainability and energy-efficient products, receiving the 2022 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year - Sustained Excellence award. This marks the ninth time the company has been recognized by the EPA since 2012 for its leadership in promoting ENERGY STAR certified products and reducing environmental impact.

The award acknowledges LG's significant achievements in 2021, a year characterized by strong consumer demand for energy-efficient appliances. During this period, LG's sales of ENERGY STAR certified products increased by 45 percent, exceeding $3.6 billion. Notably, unit sales of LG products designated as ENERGY STAR "Most Efficient" surpassed 1.5 million units for the first time.

LG's commitment to energy efficiency has resulted in substantial reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. The "Most Efficient" ENERGY STAR certified products sold by LG in 2021 are projected to save over two billion pounds of CO2 over their lifetimes, equivalent to the amount of carbon sequestered by 16 million trees over a decade. Furthermore, the annual CO2 reduction from all ENERGY STAR certified LG products sold in 2021 is equivalent to removing the annual emissions of 77,681 cars.

Beyond energy savings, LG has also made significant contributions to water conservation. The company's ENERGY STAR certified clothes washers and dishwashers sold in 2021 are estimated to save 38 billion gallons of water, enough to fill over 57,000 Olympic-sized swimming pools. LG has also actively engaged in consumer education initiatives to promote greener living and highlight the benefits of ENERGY STAR certified products.
