LG IT Challenge Develops Digital Skills for Youth with Disabilities
LG Electronics held the online preliminary rounds for the 2023 Global IT Challenge for Youth with Disabilities. The event supports the development of ICT capabilities among young people with disabilities.

LG Electronics (LG) hosted the two-day online preliminary round of the 2023 Global IT Challenge for Youth with Disabilities (GITC) on July 25. The event was organized in conjunction with South Korea’s Ministry of Health and Welfare and Rehabilitation International Korea.
Since 2011, LG Corporation, in collaboration with South Korea’s Ministry of Health and Welfare, has led the GITC. The program was established to enhance the information and communications technology (ICT) capabilities of young people with disabilities and to foster their social inclusion.
The preliminary rounds saw approximately 500 participants compete across various ICT disciplines. The challenge offers a platform for young individuals with disabilities to showcase and develop their digital talents in an international setting.
The final competition for the 2023 GITC is scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates later this year. The initiative is part of LG's broader corporate social responsibility efforts aimed at creating a more digitally inclusive society.
