LG Launches CLOi GuideBot Customer Service Robot

LG Electronics has officially launched its second-generation autonomous robot, the LG CLOi GuideBot. This marks the company's first multi-purpose customer service robot, intended to offer wayfinding, enhanced security, and advertising capabilities in commercial and public spaces.

The robot is suitable for various environments, including hotels, retail stores, offices, educational institutions, and hospitals. It can gather usage data, providing valuable insights for service delivery and customer experience improvements. The CLOi GuideBot stands 150 centimeters tall and features a 9.2-inch LG LCD display on its 'head', with voice activation powered by a microphone and 3D camera.

Equipped with large, dual 27-inch touchscreens on its body, the robot can display interactive digital content like maps and videos. In its 'Escort' mode, it can provide directions and estimate travel times. For navigation, it utilizes 15 sensors, including ToF, magnetic, and bumper sensors, to detect and avoid obstacles, ensuring safe movement at a speed of 1 meter per second.

Operating continuously for up to nine hours, the LG CLOi GuideBot can physically lead guests to their destinations while playing relevant audio or visual content. It also responds to questions through voice recognition technology. The robot is approved for safe operation in elevators and around automatic doors.
