LG Publishes Guide on Casting Smartphone Content to TVs

LG Electronics has published a guide outlining the methods for casting content from smartphones to LG televisions. The instructions cover both iPhone and Android devices, aiming to help users share their mobile content on a larger screen.

The company highlights the advantages of casting, including flexibility, ease of use, and speed. Casting allows users to continue using their phones for other tasks while content is displayed on the TV, and it offers a wireless alternative to wired connections.

For iPhone users, the guide specifies using AirPlay 2-enabled LG TVs. The process involves ensuring the iPhone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network, selecting AirPlay on the LG menu, and then using the 'Screen Mirroring' function on the iPhone to select the TV.

Android users are instructed to connect their phone and LG smart TV to the same Wi-Fi network. They should then locate their phone's 'screen sharing' or 'smart view' feature and select the LG TV to begin casting.

The guide also mentions using streaming devices such as Roku and Chromecast as alternative methods for casting. LG notes that while most content can be cast, certain applications, like Netflix, may implement restrictions on casting specific content due to copyright protection.
