LG Unveils CINEMA 3D TV at CES 2011
LG Electronics has introduced its new CINEMA 3DTM TV, the LW6500, at CES 2011. The television promises enhanced 3D picture quality with flicker-free viewing and lightweight glasses.
LG Electronics unveiled its new CINEMA 3DTM TV, model LW6500, at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The new model aims to elevate the 3D viewing experience by offering brighter, clearer images without the flicker commonly associated with 3D technology.
The key advantage highlighted by LG is the viewer comfort provided by the CINEMA 3DTM technology, which utilizes passive polarized glasses. Unlike active shutter glasses, these lightweight glasses weigh only 16 grams, require no batteries or recharging, and do not need to be synchronized with the TV. This allows for a wider viewing angle and reduces eye strain.
The LW6500 has received "Flicker Free" certification from Intertek and TÜV, two prominent inspection and certification bodies. This designation confirms the absence of flicker in the on-screen images, contributing to a more comfortable viewing experience. Havis Kwon, President and CEO of LG Home Entertainment Company, stated that LG is enabling consumers to enjoy cinema-quality 3D entertainment at home with family and friends.
The introduction of the LW6500 positions LG to compete in the growing 3D television market, offering a solution designed for enhanced comfort and visual clarity.
