LG Unveils Transparent Antenna for Vehicles with Saint-Gobain Sekurit
LG Electronics plans to debut a transparent antenna for vehicles at CES 2024, developed in partnership with glass manufacturer Saint-Gobain Sekurit. The technology integrates into vehicle glass to enhance connectivity and design.

LG Electronics (LG) will unveil a new transparent antenna for automobiles at CES 2024 in Las Vegas. The technology was developed in collaboration with French glass manufacturer Saint-Gobain Sekurit.
The transparent film antenna adheres directly to vehicle glass, offered as either an on-glass or in-glass solution. LG states this telematics solution is designed to improve vehicle communications while allowing for more seamless automotive design by eliminating the need for traditional external antennas.
The company reports the antenna is compatible with various glass types and vehicle designs. Its broad surface application is intended to ensure reliable performance and scalability for increasing network traffic, supporting 5G and GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) connectivity.
LG aims to bolster its presence in the automotive solutions market with this innovation, addressing the connectivity demands of the evolving mobility sector, including electric and increasingly connected vehicles.
