Li Auto Faces Supply Shortage for New MEGA Display Panels
Li Auto's MEGA production is impacted by a supply chain bottleneck for 29-inch OLED screens, prompting a temporary transition to LCD units with a later retrofit.

Li Auto product line lead Tang Jing reported that the company is experiencing a temporary supply shortage of the 29-inch 6K panoramic displays used in its new generation MEGA vehicle. The shortage, attributed to a constraint at Samsung, is expected to last until late this year. The issue affects vehicles scheduled for production between November 10 and December 17, specifically orders locked between September 11 and October 26.
To maintain delivery timelines, the company will temporarily install 29-inch LCD screens found in its L9 model, which share similar dimensions and software compatibility. Li Auto has committed to retrofitting the original OLED panels at no cost to owners, beginning March 1, 2027.
The company stated that the screen replacement process is designed for modular installation and will not affect the vehicle's structural integrity, software performance, or resale value. As compensation for the inconvenience, affected customers will receive a three-year service package, including unlimited in-car data and additional maintenance benefits.
