Chinese electric vehicle maker Li Auto announced on Monday, July 24, that its legal department is pursuing action against individuals accused of spreading false and damaging information. The company stated that it is taking steps to protect its rights and reputation.

One case highlighted involves an individual named Chen, who allegedly fabricated and disseminated rumors claiming Li Auto vehicles caught fire due to the use of inferior electrical components. According to the company's statement, law enforcement has handled this case, and the individual has publicly apologized for their actions.

Another individual, identified as Yan, is accused of creating and spreading negative content, inciting conflict against Li Auto, its executives, and owners across various online platforms. Li Auto reported that police have investigated this matter, and Yan has issued a public apology.

The company emphasized that it respects fact-based supervision and criticism but will continue to legally address the fabrication and dissemination of false information, malicious misleading of the public, and defamation that infringes on the company's legitimate rights.
