LianBio Assigns Development and Commercialization Rights for NBTXR3 in Asia to Janssen
Biotechnology company Nanobiotix announced that its partner LianBio has assigned exclusive rights to develop and commercialize its cancer drug NBTXR3 in China, South Korea, Singapore, and Thailand to Janssen.

Nanobiotix, a late-stage clinical biotechnology company, announced on Tuesday that its partner LianBio has entered into an agreement with Janssen Pharmaceutica NV, a Johnson & Johnson company. Under the terms of this agreement, LianBio is assigning its exclusive rights to develop and commercialize NBTXR3 in China, South Korea, Singapore, and Thailand to Janssen.
NBTXR3 is a first-in-class radioenhancer developed by Nanobiotix. It is administered via a single injection into a tumor and activated by radiotherapy, aiming to increase tumor cell destruction. The drug is currently being evaluated in clinical trials, including a Phase 3 study for head and neck cancers.
The transaction consolidates global development and commercialization rights for NBTXR3 under Janssen. Nanobiotix is eligible to receive up to an aggregate of $220 million in potential contingent milestone payments, along with tiered, low double-digit royalties on net sales in the Asian territories, according to previously agreed economic terms.
LianBio will support the transition of the asset to Janssen for a period not exceeding six months. Nanobiotix stated its continued focus on global registration for NBTXR3.
