Life Coach Helps Resolve 15-Year-Old Unresolved Matter
A personal account of life coaching illustrates how the process can assist in addressing long-standing issues, including an unexpressed debt of gratitude.

Career counselor Sigríður Gunnarsdóttir shares her experience with life coaching, which aided her in resolving an issue that had burdened her for 15 years. Gunnarsdóttir sought the guidance of coach Alma J. Árnadóttir to reignite her motivation for physical activity and to process a personal burden.
The coaching process involved dialogues and challenging questions designed to help Gunnarsdóttir structure her thoughts and take action. A significant issue she wished to address was the unexpressed gratitude for two books received from a Norwegian poet friend. For years, the books served as a symbol of a perceived debt.
Utilizing Árnadóttir's coaching techniques, Gunnarsdóttir identified and set objectives. She described the process as yielding "tiny miracles," ultimately leading her to find the right approach to thank her friend. After two days of searching, she successfully located her friend's contact information and initiated contact.
Tragically, Gunnarsdóttir's friend was gravely ill when she reached out. The conversation proved meaningful for both, and the friend expressed joy upon receiving Gunnarsdóttir's belated thanks for the books. Gunnarsdóttir was finally able to release her long-held burden.
This case highlights the potential of life coaching for personal growth and resolving long-standing personal matters. Gunnarsdóttir expressed her gratitude to Árnadóttir for assisting her in completing a task she had postponed for over a decade.
