Light Phones Add Uber and Lyft Ride Booking Tool
Light, known for its minimalist phones, is adding a new Rideshare tool for direct connections to Uber and Lyft. Owners can book rides and track trip details.
Light, the company behind minimalist phones, has introduced a new tool allowing direct booking of Uber and Lyft rides.
Owners of the Light Phone III and the upcoming Light Flip can now use the Rideshare tool to find pickup and drop-off locations, view fares and estimated arrival times. The tool also enables selection of different trip options or frequently visited saved locations.
Users can book a ride directly from their phone and subsequently view information about the driver and estimated arrival time. The option to call the driver is also available.
This feature serves as an early preview of the LightOS 'tool library' SDK, which is designed to allow external developers to expand the phones' functionalities in the future.
