According to company co-founder Kaiwei Tang, the Light Phone III was developed in response to user feedback. Many users, particularly younger demographics, expressed a dislike for smartphones and even devices that resembled them. "We have users who tell us, 'I hate smartphones. I don't want to be seen using... '", Tang stated.
Despite its minimalist approach, the Light Phone III represents an evolution from previous models.
