Lightning Fibre Activates New Full Fibre Network in Eastbourne

Fiber operator Lightning Fibre has activated its new full fibre network across the Old Town and Summerdown areas of Eastbourne. This launch makes high-speed, reliable full fibre broadband available to an additional 6,000 homes and businesses in the town.

The company is undertaking a wider rollout across Eastbourne, aiming to connect 53,000 premises in total. The build prioritizes areas with high demand, and residents are encouraged to register their interest to help optimize deployment. Lightning Fibre was established three years ago, identifying a need for full fibre infrastructure in Eastbourne to replace outdated copper wiring.

Caroline Ansell, the Member of Parliament for Eastbourne, attended the activation event, cutting the ribbon on the latest network cabinet. She commented that Lightning Fibre is "levelling up the area for the digital age" while also creating local employment and contributing to the local economy. The company has a stated ethos of supporting local communities, having previously sponsored local charities and sports teams.

Ben Ferriman, Founder and CEO of Lightning Fibre, stated that the company's build program is ahead of schedule. He announced an acceleration of network construction across Eastbourne, Hastings, Heathfield, and Hailsham. Ferriman expressed gratitude to residents for their patience during construction and to MP Ansell for her continued support.
