Lightning Fibre expands network into West Sussex and Kent

Broadband provider Lightning Fibre has announced a multi-million pound expansion into West Sussex and Kent, significantly increasing its network coverage across the South of England. The company has secured additional investment from infrastructure and private equity manager Foresight Group to facilitate this growth.

The expansion aims to cover 140,000 homes and businesses in the new regions. This development is also expected to boost the local economy, with the company increasing its headcount to approximately 200 employees. Ben Ferriman, founder and CEO of Lightning Fibre, expressed satisfaction with the company's rapid progress and brand development.

In addition to network expansion, Lightning Fibre has permanently reduced the price of its 1Gbps service by 25% and its 100Mbps service to £24 per month. This move aims to offer more competitive and affordable broadband options to consumers facing rising living costs.

Lightning Fibre builds its own fibre network, rather than solely relying on existing infrastructure. This approach allows the company to meet its deployment goals for coverage and service quality. The company states that its investments are contributing to the government's objective of achieving nationwide gigabit broadband.
