Lilly to present Alzheimer's research including P-tau217 blood tests and donanemab data at AAIC 2026

Eli Lilly and Company announced it will present 16 abstracts at the 2026 Alzheimer's Association International Conference (AAIC) in London, July 12-15. The presentations will cover diagnostic research, including new data on P-tau217 blood tests, and therapeutic research on its amyloid-targeting treatment, donanemab (Kisunla).

Three key oral presentations will focus on donanemab, with new insights from TRAILBLAZER-ALZ 6 and the TRAILBLAZER-ALZ 2 long-term extension. These will include data on safety through modified titration and corticosteroid pretreatment, as well as long-term evidence on biomarkers and the potential durability of clinical benefit. Lilly highlighted its 35-year commitment to Alzheimer's disease science, emphasizing its dedication to scientific rigor in generating evidence.

In diagnostics, Lilly will present data showing P-tau217 blood biomarker assays demonstrated strong performance comparable to amyloid PET imaging for identifying Alzheimer's pathology in cognitively unimpaired individuals. While blood biomarker tests are not currently indicated for this group, the results suggest a potentially scalable and accessible alternative to specialized imaging in the future.

Additional presentations will explore scientific methodology, including the use of external controls versus internal extrapolation in trial analysis. A total of 13 poster presentations are also scheduled, covering imaging science, health economics, and patient-centered outcomes. The full list of abstracts will be available on Lilly's website after their scheduled release.
