Lindex prevails in appellate court case against Essity over product communication
The Swedish Court of Appeal has ruled in favor of Lindex in a legal dispute with Essity regarding the marketing of its Female Engineering period underwear.

The Swedish Court of Appeal ruled in favor of Lindex today, resolving a legal challenge brought by Essity concerning the marketing of the retailer's Female Engineering period panties. The court dismissed claims regarding how the product was presented in relation to light urine leakage.
In its decision, the court found that Essity failed to prove that Lindex’s promotional material framed the product as a medical treatment for illness or disability. The judges determined that the communication remained within the scope of marketing for hygiene products.
Beyond the ruling on the merits of the case, the Court of Appeal ordered Essity to cover all of Lindex’s legal expenses. The verdict marks the conclusion of a dispute regarding the positioning of functional apparel in the feminine hygiene market.
