Lingnan University's Department of Economics is offering two master's programs aimed at students specializing in international banking and finance, and development economics.

The Master of Science in International Banking and Finance (MIBF) program, launched in 2006, is designed to prepare students for the demands of the international banking and finance sector. The curriculum balances theoretical concepts with practical skills, addressing both local and global needs. This program aims to equip graduates for further academic pursuits and professional advancement.

Launched in 2018, the Master of Science in International and Development Economics (MIDE) program is noted as Hong Kong's first taught master's program primarily instructed in Chinese (Mandarin), with a specialization in the Belt and Road Initiative and economic development. The program provides students with interdisciplinary training in economics and finance.

The MIDE program's structure allows students to explore their subject interests and gain insights into recent economic, financial, social, political, and environmental developments along the Belt and Road Initiative and various Bay Area regions from multiple perspectives.
