Lingnan University renames Teaching and Learning Centre
Lingnan University in Hong Kong has renamed its Teaching and Learning Centre to the Centre for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITAL). The change aligns with the university's strategic development in the digital era.

Lingnan University in Hong Kong announced on May 27, 2026, that its Teaching and Learning Centre has been renamed the Centre for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITAL).
The restructuring supports Lingnan University's transformation into a research-focused liberal arts university comprehensive in arts and sciences, aligning with the institution's development in the digital era and the educational direction of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
CITAL will build on the centre's existing work, focusing on strengthening innovation in teaching and learning. The emphasis will be on evidence-informed development and the enhancement of student learning outcomes through the use of innovative educational technologies.
Professor Frankie Lam, Director of CITAL, stated the name change is guided by strategic considerations, including intensifying research and developing Lingnan into a comprehensive higher education institution. The centre will also support institutional growth, including the newly established School of Data Science and the expansion of new academic programs.
