Lingnan University Subjects Gain Ground in QS World Rankings
Lingnan University has achieved notable results in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, with nine subjects ranked and over half improving their positions. Computer Science and Information Systems appears on the list for the first time.

Lingnan University has announced strong performance in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026. Nine broad and individual subjects at the university were ranked, with more than half improving their positions compared to the previous year. Notably, Philosophy secured a top three ranking within Hong Kong, and Computer Science and Information Systems was included for the first time.
The university received rankings across the Arts and Humanities broad subject area and in eight individual subjects. These include Business and Management Studies, Communication and Media Studies, Computer Science and Information Systems, Economics and Econometrics, Education, English Language and Literature, Philosophy, and Sociology. Five of these subjects saw year-on-year improvements in their rankings.
Philosophy is ranked third in Hong Kong and 20th in Asia. Communication and Media Studies and English Language and Literature also achieved high rankings within the Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, and Taiwan region.
President S. Joe Qin highlighted the results as evidence of Lingnan's growing international influence. He specifically pointed to the debut of Computer Science and Information Systems as a significant milestone, reflecting the university's progress in artificial intelligence and data science, aligning with its 'Liberal Arts + Technology' model.
