Link Engineering Receives VCA Approval for Euro 7 Brake Emission Testing

Link Engineering Company (LINK) announced that its laboratory in Limburg, Germany, has received authorization from the UK's Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) to perform type-approval testing for brake emissions. This approval allows LINK to assist manufacturers in meeting the upcoming Euro 7 regulations, which introduce limits on particle emissions from brakes for the first time.

The new Euro 7 requirements necessitate specialized testing facilities and expertise for vehicle and brake manufacturers to achieve certification. The VCA authorization expands LINK's testing capabilities and positions the company as a comprehensive partner for the automotive industry, offering end-to-end solutions from development testing to regulatory certification.

According to the company, only a limited number of organizations globally possess the required equipment, expertise, and recognized accreditations for these types of tests. LINK's laboratory is already accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 and was among the first organizations to receive accreditation for brake emission testing from DAkkS (the German Accreditation Body).

The approval provides manufacturers with an optimized path to certification to comply with the new regulatory demands.
