LinkedIn Adds 'Seems Like AI Slop' Reporting Button
LinkedIn is introducing a new reporting option allowing users to flag posts they believe are AI-generated, aiming to reduce the volume of such content on the platform.

LinkedIn has launched a new feature enabling users to report posts that appear to be generated by artificial intelligence. The button, which users can select if a post "Seems like AI slop," is part of the social network's effort to curb the proliferation of AI-generated content.
This move follows concerns about the increasing amount of AI-generated material on professional networking sites. A recent report by AI detection service Pangram indicated that 41 percent of longform posts on LinkedIn were flagged as entirely AI-created, according to findings shared by 404Media.
"AI slop is a top priority for all of us," stated Hari Srinivasan, LinkedIn's chief product officer, in a platform post. The company has not detailed specific threshold metrics for AI content but is enhancing its systems to address the issue. The new reporting tool is intended to supplement these efforts by gathering user feedback.
The introduction of the "Seems like AI slop" button signals LinkedIn's acknowledgement of the challenges posed by AI-generated content and its commitment to improving content quality for its users.
