LinkedIn has identified 25 U.S. cities experiencing significant job growth, with the healthcare industry playing a pivotal role in these expanding labor markets. These metros are outpacing the national trend, showing accelerated gains in hiring, job postings, and new worker migration.
The "Cities on the Rise" ranking, released recently by LinkedIn, analyzes anonymized data from March 2024 to February 2026. Cities qualified by demonstrating above-median growth in hiring activity, job listings, and migration of LinkedIn members.
Augusta, Georgia, secured the top position, followed by Richmond, Virginia; Reno, Nevada; North Port-Bradenton-Sarasota, Florida; and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. An analysis by Inc. Magazine indicates that hospitals and healthcare rank among the top three hiring industries in 23 of these 25 cities.
This growth pattern contrasts with the broader U.S. labor market, which saw a slowdown with only 57,000 jobs added in June. The healthcare sector, however, is projected to remain a key growth area, expected to add approximately 2 million jobs between 2024 and 2034.
