LMU Munich Offers International Master's Program in Journalism, Media, and Globalization

Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) has announced its international Master of Arts program in Journalism, Media, and Globalization. This interdisciplinary program aims to provide students with a scientific and critical understanding of journalism in the context of global changes, centralizing a comparative perspective in its curriculum.

The program is a collaborative effort with European partner universities, including Aarhus University, the University of Amsterdam, City, University of London, Swansea University, and Charles University in Prague. Students commence their first year of study at Aarhus University and then transfer to LMU or one of the other partner institutions for their second year, where specialized tracks are offered.

Admission to the Master's program requires a bachelor's degree with at least 180 ECTS credits or an equivalent qualification, along with a minimum of one year of relevant professional experience gained after the completion of the first degree. Applications for the aptitude test are due by January 10 for the following winter semester. The program is fee-based, with tuition fees set at €9,000 for EU students and €18,000 for non-EU students for 2025.

Graduates of the Journalism, Media, and Globalization program are particularly qualified for employment with internationally operating media companies. The program is taught in English and is designed as a full-time, continuing education course.
