LMU Munich Opens New Study Facilities for Exam Period
Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) has opened three new study facilities offering over 450 learning spaces for exam preparation. The locations feature modern workstations and group study areas.

Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) has significantly expanded its student learning resources by opening three new study facilities across its city campuses. These new spaces, located at Professor-Huber-Platz, Leopoldstraße 13, and Geschwister-Scholl-Platz, provide a combined total of over 450 modern learning spots designed to support focused study and group work.
The new facilities are tailored to meet the needs of contemporary students. The UniLounge at Geschwister-Scholl-Platz offers approximately 100 accessible workstations within a historic vaulted building. Its open-concept design integrates individual and group work zones, alongside dedicated "think tanks" for deep concentration, and includes a lounge area with refreshments.
Located at Leopoldstraße 13, the Lernzentrum Leo 13 has been transformed from a former textbook collection. It provides inviting seating areas, spacious group tables, and comfortable armchairs, creating a pleasant study environment close to the university's cafeteria. The third facility at Geschwister-Scholl-Platz is the former General Reading Room of the university library, which has undergone extensive renovation to offer 164 new study places. This area is divided into quiet work zones and more open spaces for collaborative activities.
All the new facilities are equipped with modern amenities, including adjustable desks, extra power outlets, and improved lighting. The UniLounge and Geschwister-Scholl-Platz study areas are accessible until late evenings and on weekends, offering flexibility for students' schedules during exam periods. Additionally, the university maintains two computer rooms in the LMU main building, providing further computer access and workstations on a first-come, first-served basis.
