LMU Munich to discontinue LL.M. program in European and International Economic Law
Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU Munich) has announced the discontinuation of its postgraduate LL.M.Eur. program in European and International Economic Law. New admissions are no longer possible.

Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU Munich) will cease new admissions to its LL.M.Eur. (postgraduate) program in European and International Economic Law. The university has stated that no new students will be admitted for the winter semester 2026/27 onwards.
The program, which provided advanced legal training in European and international economic law over two semesters, is being phased out. LMU Munich is introducing a new master's degree program, "European and International Economic Law (Master/Hauptfach)," to replace it, aiming to offer a more current curriculum.
This change reflects the university's strategy to adapt its academic offerings to evolving legal landscapes and professional demands. The discontinued program focused on specialized knowledge within economic law, preparing graduates for roles requiring expertise in cross-border commerce and EU regulations.
While new enrollments for the LL.M.Eur. program are closed, current students will be able to complete their studies. The new master's program is designed to build upon the foundation of the previous one, providing enhanced opportunities for students interested in this legal field.
