Luca de Meo Appointed CEO of Kering

Luxury group Kering announced the appointment of Luca de Meo as its new Chief Executive Officer. The decision was approved by the Board of Directors and is set to take effect on September 15, 2025, pending approval from the upcoming general meeting.

This move will separate the role of CEO from the Chairman of the Board, with François-Henri Pinault retaining the chairmanship. Pinault, who has led Kering's transformation into a global luxury player over two decades, stated that de Meo's experience with international listed groups and his understanding of brands make him the right leader for Kering's next chapter.

De Meo joins Kering from his role as CEO of Renault Group. He brings extensive experience from the automotive sector, having held leadership positions at Volkswagen Group, Fiat, and previously at Renault. Kering highlighted his understanding of strong corporate cultures and brand management.

Pinault expressed confidence in de Meo's ability to steer Kering forward and pledged his support in his capacity as Chairman. De Meo conveyed his enthusiasm for the new challenge, citing the strength of Kering's brands and the expertise of its teams.

The appointment signals a new phase for Kering, aiming to strengthen its governance and leadership structure as it navigates the evolving luxury market. Kering's portfolio includes brands such as Gucci, Saint Laurent, and Bottega Veneta.
