Luca de Meo Appointed CEO of Kering
Kering's board of directors has approved the appointment of Luca de Meo as the group's new Chief Executive Officer. The change, effective September 15, 2025, separates the CEO role from the Chairman position.

Luxury group Kering announced on Monday, June 16, 2025, that its board of directors has approved the appointment of Luca de Meo as the company's new Chief Executive Officer. This decision, recommended by the Appointments and Governance Committee, marks a significant shift in Kering's governance structure.
The appointment is set to take effect on September 15, 2025, following a shareholder meeting called for September 9, 2025. Shareholders will be asked to appoint de Meo as a director and approve his compensation policy. With these changes, the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors, currently held by François-Henri Pinault, will be separated from the CEO position.
François-Henri Pinault, who has led Kering's transformation into a major global luxury player over two decades, stated that the group is entering a new phase. He expressed his confidence in de Meo, citing his experience leading international listed groups, his understanding of brands, and his appreciation for corporate culture as key qualifications. Pinault will continue as Chairman of the Board.
Luca de Meo, who previously served as CEO of Renault Group, expressed enthusiasm for the new challenge. He highlighted the strength of Kering's brands and the expertise of its people, anticipating continued success in the luxury industry. De Meo brings extensive experience from the automotive sector, including leadership roles at Fiat, Volkswagen, Audi, and SEAT.
