Luxury group Kering announced the appointment of Luca de Meo as its new Chief Executive Officer. The appointment is part of a governance overhaul separating the roles of Chairman and CEO.

Kering, the global luxury conglomerate, has announced the appointment of Luca de Meo as its new Chief Executive Officer. The decision, proposed by the Appointments Committee, was approved by the Board of Directors and will take effect on September 15, 2025, following approval at the General Meeting on September 9, 2025. This move also formalizes the separation of the Chairman and CEO roles, with François-Henri Pinault continuing as Chairman.
Pinault, who has steered Kering's transformation over two decades, stated that de Meo's extensive experience leading a listed international group, his understanding of brands, and his commitment to corporate culture made him the ideal candidate to guide Kering into its next phase. De Meo joins Kering from Renault Group, where he served as CEO for nearly four years.
With a career spanning approximately 30 years in the automotive sector, de Meo has held senior positions at companies including Renault, Toyota, Fiat, and Volkswagen Group. Before his tenure at Renault, he led SEAT and CUPRA. He expressed enthusiasm for the new challenge, emphasizing confidence in Kering's brands and teams to continue the group's success in the luxury sector.
Kering is home to a portfolio of luxury houses including Gucci, Saint Laurent, and Bottega Veneta. The group emphasizes creativity and sustainability. In 2024, Kering reported revenues of €17.2 billion and employed approximately 47,000 people.
